Operation Shred and Medicine Takeback
The Clearwater Police Department, working alongside the city’s Solid Waste Department, will offer free shredding to residents on Saturday, April 25 in the mall parking lot near Whole Foods. In addition to shredding, CPD will also offer free collection of unwanted prescription drugs (excluding needles, EpiPens and other medical waste). Both services are for residential use only, not for use by commercial interests.
Free shredding is a way to keep your sensitive financial documents safe. Papers will be shredded on site under the supervision of Clearwater Police economic crimes detectives. Getting rid of unwanted prescription drugs is also a safe and proper way of disposal. Flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash is hazardous to the environment.
